Tthe Antonov An-225 Mriya (ukraiński: Антонов Ан-225 Мрія, lit. "sen" lub "inspiracja"; Nazwa raportowania NATO: Kozak) to strategiczny samolot towarowy, który został zaprojektowany przez Biuro Projektowe Antonowa w Ukraińskiej RSSI w Związku Radzieckim w latach 80. Jest zasilany przez sześć silników turbowentylatorowych i jest najcięższym samolotem, jaki kiedykolwiek zbudowano, o maksymalnej masie startowej 640 ton (710 krótkich ton; 630 długich ton). Ma również największy rozpiętość skrzydeł spośród wszystkich samolotów w służbie operacyjnej.

General Characteristics

The Antonov An-225 Mriya (meaning “Dream” in Ukrainian) was the largest and heaviest aircraft ever built. Developed by the Antonov Design Bureau in the Soviet Union (Ukrainian SSR) during the 1980s, it was originally designed to transport the **Buran-class space shuttle** and components of the Energia rocket on its external fuselage. After the Soviet space program ended, the sole completed aircraft was refurbished and operated commercially by Antonov Airlines, specializing in transporting ultra-heavy and oversized cargo globally. The aircraft was tragically destroyed in February 2022.
