The plane SB2C Helldiver built by the firm Curtiss et que ses équipages ont surnommé «La bête» (The Beast) est un avion militaire qui a évolué durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. L’usine Curtiss as well as Brewster's, received an order from the U.S. Navy in May 39 to provide for the replacement of the Douglas SBD Dauntless as a dive bomber on board the U.S. Navy aircraft carriers. The prototype made its first test flight on December 18, 1940 before being destroyed in an accident in the days that followed. This incident meant that the delay was compounded by numerous modifications to the original draft, resulting in a first serial flight than in June 1942. Its first war mission was apparently carried out on 11 November 1943 during the attack on the Japanese-occupied island of Rabaul.

Photo gallery of a Jagdpanther, The Jagdpanther (German: “hunting panther”) was a tank destroyer built by Nazi Germany during World War II based on the chassis of the Panther tank. It entered service late in the war (1944) and saw service on the Eastern and Western fronts. The Jagdpanther combined the very powerful 8.8 cm PaK 43 cannon of the Tiger II and the characteristically excellent armor and suspension of the Panther chassis, although it suffered from the general poor state of Germany in the later part of the war, which resulted in small production numbers, shortage in spare parts and poor crew training.

ISBN-13978-2913903135

Book Description: The heavily armored Tiger I became the most famous German tank of World War II. The Tigers were originally intended to counter the heavy tanks of the Russian Front, and were assigned to specially created tank battalions. In 1944 Tiger units were rushed to Normandy and fought in all the major battles of the Western Front. Although they were superior to all the tanks of the Western allies, Tigers in the West faced the added danger of attack from the greatly superior British and American air forces. Each Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS unit equipped with the Tiger I is covered in detail. Each unit’s insignia and a representative vehicle with camouflage and markings is shown in color. The operational history of each unit, and in some cases individual vehicles, is described with the aid of 250 black and white photos, most of them never before published. Publisher comments: This book is a follow-on from Jean Restayne’s earlier book: Tiger 1 on the Eastern Front (Histoire & Collections 1999. The 2 books make a great set!

Description

A model of the Sd.Kfz.181 Kingtiger Henschel tank

A mock-up of the brand Cyber-Hobby The model: "Sd.Kfz.181 Kingtiger Henschel "Black Knight" 8th Tank Company, 1945". Le Panzerkampfwagen VI Konigstiger, or Sd.Kfz. 182 Panzer VI ausf B Tiger II, nicknamed the King's Tiger (Royal Tiger), is a German tank of the Second World War. Produced 50 copies for the "Porsche" turret model, 439 copies for the turret model "Henschel", this tank had a large armour, an anti-tank gun giving it the ability to put out of action all Allied tanks in service during the last two years of the conflict, but it was very heavy (76 tons in combat order) and had the same engine as the 50-ton Panther tank in combat order. Its weight-to-power ratio was therefore lower, it was slow and unmoved, could not pass all the bridges, was extremely fuel-intensive, and had to change tracks before and after any rail transport.
