V K30 je bil prvič napovedan kot projekt leta 1983 s 600 zaposlenimi, ki so izvajali raziskave, in približno 10 milijard wonov, porabljenih za raziskave in razvoj. Septembra 2001 je bila proizvodnja prototipov opravljena v okviru Tong-il Heavy Industries, preden je Doosan Infracore leta 2007 sklenil pogodbo s korejskim programom za obrambne nabave. Prvotno naročilo je bilo izdano leta 2002 za dobavo K30.

General Characteristics

The K30 Biho is a South Korean short-range self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) system. It was designed to provide close-in air defense against low-flying aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for ground forces.

Key Feature (K-30 Hybrid): An upgraded variant, the K-30 Biho Hybrid, integrates shoulder-fired missiles (like the K-SAAM or Mistral) and an auxiliary power unit (APU) for quiet operation, significantly extending its engagement range.
Amphibious Capability: Inherits the amphibious capability of the K200 chassis.
