A K30 először 1983-ban jelentették be projektként, 600 munkatárssal, akik kutatást végeztek, és körülbelül 10 milliárd wont költöttek kutatásra és fejlesztésre. 2001 szeptemberében a prototípusok gyártása a Tong-il Heavy Industries irányítása alatt zajlott, mielőtt a Doosan Infracore 2007-ben szerződést kötött a koreai védelmi beszerzési programmal. Az első megrendelés 2002-ben érkezett a K30 szállítására.

General Characteristics

The K30 Biho is a South Korean short-range self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) system. It was designed to provide close-in air defense against low-flying aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for ground forces.

Key Feature (K-30 Hybrid): An upgraded variant, the K-30 Biho Hybrid, integrates shoulder-fired missiles (like the K-SAAM or Mistral) and an auxiliary power unit (APU) for quiet operation, significantly extending its engagement range.
Amphibious Capability: Inherits the amphibious capability of the K200 chassis.
