Nniiden K30 julkistettiin ensimmäisen kerran projektina vuonna 1983, jolloin 600 työntekijää teki tutkimusta ja noin 10 miljardia wonia käytettiin tutkimukseen ja kehitykseen. Syyskuussa 2001 prototyypit valmistettiin Tong-il Heavy Industriesin alaisuudessa, ennen kuin Doosan Infracore solmi sopimuksen Korean puolustusvoimien hankintaohjelman kanssa vuonna 2007. Ensimmäinen tilaus tehtiin vuonna 2002 K30:n toimittamisesta.

General Characteristics

The K30 Biho is a South Korean short-range self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) system. It was designed to provide close-in air defense against low-flying aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for ground forces.

Key Feature (K-30 Hybrid): An upgraded variant, the K-30 Biho Hybrid, integrates shoulder-fired missiles (like the K-SAAM or Mistral) and an auxiliary power unit (APU) for quiet operation, significantly extending its engagement range.
Amphibious Capability: Inherits the amphibious capability of the K200 chassis.
