2007 K30 kuulutati esmakordselt välja projektina 1983. aastal, kus 600 töötajat tegid teadusuuringuid ja umbes 10 miljardit võitu kulutati teadus- ja arendustegevusele. 2001. aasta septembris tehti prototüüpide tootmine Tong-il Heavy Industriesi all, enne kui Doosan Infracore sõlmis 2007. aastal lepingu Korea kaitse omandamise programmiga. Esialgne tellimus tehti 2002. aastal K30 tarnimiseks.

General Characteristics
The K30 Biho is a South Korean short-range self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) system. It was designed to provide close-in air defense against low-flying aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for ground forces.

Armament and Radar

- Operational Range: Approximately 500 km (310 miles).
- Key Feature (K-30 Hybrid): An upgraded variant, the K-30 Biho Hybrid, integrates shoulder-fired missiles (like the K-SAAM or Mistral) and an auxiliary power unit (APU) for quiet operation, significantly extending its engagement range.
- Amphibious Capability: Inherits the amphibious capability of the K200 chassis.
