Den K30 tillkännagavs först som ett projekt 1983 med 600 anställda som bedrev forskning och cirka 10 miljarder won spenderades på forskning och utveckling. I september 2001 tillverkades prototyper av Tong-il Heavy Industries innan Doosan Infracore slöt ett kontrakt med Koreas Defense Acquisition Program 2007. En första beställning gjordes 2002 för att leverera K30.

General Characteristics
The K30 Biho is a South Korean short-range self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) system. It was designed to provide close-in air defense against low-flying aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for ground forces.
