Den K30 ble først annonsert som et prosjekt i 1983 med 600 ansatte som drev forskning og rundt 10 milliarder won brukt på FoU. I september 2001 ble produksjonen av prototyper gjort under Tong-il Heavy Industries før Doosan Infracore inngikk en kontrakt med Koreas Defense Acquisition Program i 2007. En første bestilling ble gjort i 2002 for å levere K30.

General Characteristics

The K30 Biho is a South Korean short-range self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) system. It was designed to provide close-in air defense against low-flying aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for ground forces.

Amphibious Capability: Inherits the amphibious capability of the K200 chassis.
