Its maiden flight was in April 1939. The aircraft’s unusual design featured an Allison engine mounted in the middle of the fuselage, just behind the pilot, driving the propeller through a driveshaft passing between the pilot’s feet. A 37 mm T9 cannon fired through the center of the propeller hub. Entry to the cockpit was through a side door. A Total of 9,584 examples were produced, with over half being sent to the Soviet Union under the lend-lease program.

Jagdpanther Late Version

Une maquette de la marque Tamiya le kit: « Jagdpanther Late Version – Tamiya 35203 ».

The German Jagdpanther is regarded by the ordnance experts as one of the best tracked weapons systems during the World War 2. The awesome Pak43/3, L71 88mm gun was mounted on the proven Panther medium tank chassis. The gun was installed into the box shaped superstructure which used thick steel armor of 80mm at the front and 50mm at the sides. These frontal and side armor plates were effectively inclined to obtain an improved protection. The gun mantlet called “Saukopf” (sow head) had a thickness of 100mm.

A ball mounted MG42 bow machine gun was installed at the right side of the main gun. Weighing in at 46 tons and propelled by the powerful Maybach V12 cylinder engine, this tank destroyer had a well-balanced fire power, protection and mobility to high standards. Mass production started in January 1944 at MIAG firm, and during its production career, several improvements and alterations were made with feedback from the front lines. Early production models used a nearly flush gun mantlet collar, but it was replaced with a larger, bolt-fixed collar in October 1944. Larger diameter idler wheels were introduced at the same time. A heater for the crew compartment, and the same exhaust covers as equipped on the late production Panther G tanks were added, beginning from December. The Jagdpanther was first deployed to the Normandy campaign in June 1944, and 415 units were produced until April 1945.

MC.200 SAETTA

A kit from the brand ITALERI the kit “MC.200 SAETTA – ITALERI 2676”.

The Macchi MC 200, designed by renowned engineer Mario Castoldi, has been a significant evolution in the production of Italian fighter planes. Compared to biplane Fiat Fiat CR 32 and CR 42, which were still at the beginning of the Second World War, the backbone of the Italian fighter squadrons, the Macchi MC 200 was characterized, along with his contemporary Fiat G50, for a monoplane configuration and for the metal construction throughout.

The 14-cylinder radial engine Fiat A.74 RC 38 double star could provide a power of 840 horses, and to reach a Macchi Mc 200 to 500 km / h. Compared to the corresponding hunting allies the Macchi Mc 200 was, however, not very powerful and, above all, little concrete. The armament consisted of two sun-machine guns Breda SAFAT 12.7 mm mounted above the characteristic of the engine cowling dimpled. In later versions were added two Breda machine guns-SAFAT 7.7 mm in the wings. It has been used by the Royal Air Force on the main fronts of the Second Mondial War in Africa, the Mediterranean, the Balkans and Russia.

A kit from the brand HobbyBoss the kit : «FM-2 Wildcat – HOBBY BOSS 80330».

The FM-2 Wildcat was designed and prototyped by Grumman Aircraft. More than 4000 were built by the Eastern Aircraft Division of the General Motors Company between 1943 – 1945. These aircraft incorporated a lighter airframe and a more powerful engine. This meant there was a physical design difference between the F4F and the FM-2. The FM-2 had a taller vertical tail for stability to counter the increased torque of the engine. Armament consisted of 4 – .50 cal. guns, 2 – external bomb or fuel racks and air to ground rocket launch points on the wings. These aircraft were primarily operated from escort carriers to support ground operations in the Pacific theater of operations. These same aircraft were teamed with Grumman Avengers and used in anti-sub operations in the Atlantic against U-boats.

Ardelt Rheinmetall 8.8cm Pak 43 Waffentrage

A brand novelty 2012 Dragon Model The kit: Ardelt-Rheinmetall 8.8cm Pak 43 Waffentrager - DML 6728.

The Waffentr-ger ("arms carrier") was a 1942 German concept of vehicles used to transport removable turrets, guns or 105 mm field howitzers. It resulted in the creation of several prototype tank chassis carrying turrets armed with artillery pieces, which would be placed on the ground before each shot, the vehicle being used to transport other turrets, or to transport ammunition from the rear to the turrets.

The tactical need for such an arrangement being very uncertain, the idea did not exceed the realization of a few gears, of which here is the list: Heuschrecke IV B : 1942. 8 engins produits.

Un livre signé Osprey Publishing le livre «T-54 and T-55 Main Battle Tanks 1944–2004 – NEW VANGUARD 102» .

The T-54 and T-55 tanks are the most widely manufactured tanks of all time. They have become ubiquitous to wars around the globe since the 1950s, starting with Hungary in 1956, and including the the Arab-Israeli wars of 1967, 1973 and 1982, the Vietnam war of 1967-75, the Iran-Iraq War of 1980-88, the Afghanistan conflict, Operation Desert Storm, the Yugoslav Civil Wars, and the recent conflict in Iraq.

This book will examine the roots of this prolific tank family, starting with the Soviet Army’s first attempts to replace the legendary T-34 during World War II, and covering the T-43 and the T-44, the more successful T-54, and its ultimate evolution into the T-55.

Iraqi Tank T-55 “Enigma”

A kit from the brand Tamiya the kit: «Iraqi Tank T-55 “Enigma” – Tamiya 35324».

Iraq was a major operator of T-54/55 series tanks and ordered their first 250 T-54s from the former Soviet Union in 1958, followed by 50 more in 1965. Many of these were lost during the Yom Kippur War so 300 T-55s were ordered in 1973. Other purchases followed: 50 and 400 T-55s from the surplus stocks of East Germany and Poland respectively in 1980; 250 T-55s and 150 TR-580s (Romanian version of the T-55) from Egypt and Romania respectively in 1981; another 400 T-55s, including some Czech-built examples, from the former Soviet Union in 1981; and about 1,500 Type 59 and Type 69 tanks were bought from China during the 1980s.

The T-54 and T-55 tanks are a series of Soviet main battle tanks introduced in the years following the Second World War. The first T-54 prototype was completed at Nizhny Tagil by the end of 1945. Initial production ramp up settled for 1947 at Nizhny Tagil, and 1948 for Kharkov were halted and curtailed as many problems were uncovered; the T-34-85 still accounted for 88 percent of production through the 50’s. The T-54 eventually became the main tank for armoured units of the Soviet Army, armies of the Warsaw Pact countries, and many others. T-54s and T-55s have been involved in many of the world’s armed conflicts since the later part of the 20th century.

Une documentation signée Squadron Signal le livre «SB2C Helldiver in action – Squadron Signal 54» .

US Navy pilots nicknamed the Helldiver “the Beast”. It was not a popular plane, not easy to fly. Curtiss Aircraft designed this plane to US Navy specifications, which forced it to be too small for everything it was trying to do – have long range, carry 1,000 lbs and be a scout/bomber to replace the Douglas Dauntless. The Navy was gearing up for WW2, the plane was ordered into production before the first prototype had flown. After two years, they had improved the plane somewhat, but could never overcome the basic design limitations.

Just because the plane was not a war winner, does’t mean this isn’t a good book. This series of books has excellent, concise histories with lots of diagrams, black and white photos and color schemes used by the Navy during WW2 and afterwards. All versions are addressed, making this a great book for a modeler or aviation fan.
