Un kit de chez Voyager Model le set de photodécoupe «British Valentine Mk.II Infantry Tank basic – VOYAGER MODEL PE35491» pour AFV Club 35185

History: The Valentine was a British infantry tank produced during the Second World War. Based on the Cruiser Mk II tank, the Valentine was designed by the Vickers-Armstrong Company and proposed to the Ministry of War in February 1938. Its designers had tried to combine the weight of a Cruiser tank (so as to be able to reuse the suspensions and transmission elements) with the armour of an infantry tank, which produced a small vehicle with a cramped interior and a turret served by two men. Although its engine is weaker than that of the Matilda tank, because of its lighter armour it had the same top speed and was much easier and cheaper to produce.

The Panther SdKfz 171 Panzer V was a German tank during the Second World War. His first engagement was at the Battle of Kursk in 1943. Designed to replace the obsolete Panzer III and IV and stand up to the Soviet T-34, it had to be used in addition to its predecessors to compensate for its understaffing.

The main armament of the Panther was a long 75mm Kwk 42 75mm 70 caliber long, the power equivalent of the Tiger I tank. It carried 79 shells and was equipped with a coaxial MG34 machine gun, a second crate machine gun in the front and a third air defence machine on the turret.

The E-7 was a long range fighter derived from the E-4/N. Like that aircraft it had the DB 601N engine, two MG-17 machine guns in the engine cowling and two MG/FF cannon in the wings. However, it also had attachments for a 300 litre drop tank, giving it a significantly extended range. The same attachments could also be used to fit a SC 250 bomb rack, allowing the E-7 to carry a single 250 kg bomb.

Russian KV-1S

A kit from the brand Trumpeter the kit: «Russian KV-1S – Trumpeter 01566».

The kit consists of over 440 parts – the kit w/refined detail – multi-slide moulded lower hull – 192 individual tracks links – Photo Etched Parts & Metal gun barrel included

KV-1S – A lighter variant of late 1942 with higher speed, but thinner armour. A new, smaller, cast turret and redesigned rear hull were used. 1370 were built. In response to criticisms, the lighter KV-1S (Russian language: КВ-1С) was released, with thinner armour and a smaller, lower turret in order to reclaim some speed. Importantly, the KV-1S also had a commander’s cupola with all-around vision blocks, a first for a Soviet heavy tank. However, the thinning-out of the armor called into question why the tank was being produced at all, when the T-34 could seemingly do everything the KV could do and much more cheaply. The Soviet heavy tank program was close to cancellation in mid-1943.

German Cruisers in Action

Ref4024

A book from Squadron Signal the book «German Cruisers Of World War Two – Squadron Signal 4024» .

History: Capital ship evolution was reasonably straightforward during the 19th Century. Steam power replaced sails, metal hulls replaced wood, and a small number of breech-loading rifles replaced a much larger number of smoothbore muzzle-loaders. This was partly because the line-of-battle ships’ role remained simple: to be part of a fleet of similar ships capable of defeating any enemy’s fleet of battleships. The evolution of cruising ship was far more complex. with many different, often parallel lines of development…
