O K30 foi anunciado pela primeira vez como um projeto em 1983, com 600 funcionários conduzindo pesquisas e cerca de 10 bilhões de won gastos em P&D. Em setembro de 2001, a produção de protótipos foi feita sob a Tong-il Heavy Industries antes que a Doosan Infracore concluísse um contrato com o Programa de Aquisição de Defesa da Coréia em 2007. Um pedido inicial foi feito em 2002 para fornecer o K30.

General Characteristics

The K30 Biho is a South Korean short-range self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) system. It was designed to provide close-in air defense against low-flying aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for ground forces.
