L’Arado Ar 196 était un avion monoplan de reconnaissance à aile basse construit par la société allemande Arado à partir de 1936. L’année suivante, il a été sélectionné comme gagnant d’un concours de design et est devenu l’avion standard de la Kriegsmarine (marine allemande) tout au long de la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

The Arado Ar 196 was the standard shipboard reconnaissance aircraft of the German Kriegsmarine (Navy) throughout World War II, replacing the older Heinkel He 60 biplane. The A-3 was a heavily armed production variant with a reinforced structure.
