El Arado Ar 196 fue un avión monoplano de reconocimiento a bordo construido por la firma alemana de Arado a partir de 1936. Al año siguiente fue seleccionado como el ganador de un concurso de diseño y se convirtió en el avión estándar de la Kriegsmarine (Armada alemana) durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial.

The Arado Ar 196 was the standard shipboard reconnaissance aircraft of the German Kriegsmarine (Navy) throughout World War II, replacing the older Heinkel He 60 biplane. The A-3 was a heavily armed production variant with a reinforced structure.
