L'Arado Ar 196 era un monoplano da ricognizione ad ala bassa costruito dalla ditta tedesca Arado a partire dal 1936. L'anno successivo fu selezionato come vincitore di un concorso di progettazione e divenne l'aereo standard della Kriegsmarine (Marina tedesca) durante la seconda guerra mondiale.

The Arado Ar 196 was the standard shipboard reconnaissance aircraft of the German Kriegsmarine (Navy) throughout World War II, replacing the older Heinkel He 60 biplane. The A-3 was a heavily armed production variant with a reinforced structure.
