Photo gallery of a S-75M Volhov, The S-75 Dvina is a Soviet-designed, high-altitude, command guided, surface-to-air missile (SAM). Since its first deployment in 1957 it has become the most widely-deployed air defense missile in history. It scored the first destruction of an enemy aircraft by a SAM, shooting down a Taiwanese Martin RB-57D Canberra over China, on October 7, 1959 by hitting it with three V-750 (1D) missiles at an altitude of 20 km (65,600 ft). The success was attributed to Chinese fighters at the time in order to keep the S-75 program secret.

Une documentation signée Osprey Publishing le livre «US Anti-tank Artillery 1941–45 – NEW VANGUARD 107» .

The US Army’s development of the 37mm anti-tank gun began in response to needs identified during the Spanish Civil War. By the time it entered service in Tunisia in 1943, the gun was already obsolete, and the US began the licensed manufacture of the British 6-pdr in the hope of finding a quick solution to its artillery requirements. This in turn proved unequal to the demands of warfare in France in 1944, and further anti-tank measures were developed – rocket propelled grenades for infantry use, and weapons designed specifically for use by the Tank Destroyer Force.

Flakpanzer IV Ausf.G “Wirbelwind” Early Production w/Zimmerit

A model of the brand Dragon Model the kit : Flakpanzer IV Ausf.G “Wirbelwind” Early Production w/Zimmerit – DML 6565

With Allied aircraft increasingly dominating the skies over Europe as WWII progressed, there was a need for more effective self-propelled antiaircraft guns for German forces. One solution was the Flakpanzer IV, a vehicle nicknamed Wirbelwind, or “Whirlwind” by the Germans. Development commenced in 1944 as a brainchild of Karl Wilhelm Krause, and the vehicle featured a quadruple 2cm Flakvierling 38 weapon system mounted inside a nine-sided turret. The turret was open-topped to allow fumes generated from the four cannons to dissipate. As can be imagined, the Wirbelwind was a quick-firing weapon, and it could also be employed against ground targets. A crew of five operated it. Approximately 100 of these 22-tonne weapons were produced on rebuilt or repaired Panzer IV tank chassis. Dragon previously produced a fantastic 1/35 scale kit of an Early-Production Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind, but now comes an updated version featuring Zimmerit. The antiaircraft platform is based on a Panzer IV Ausf.G chassis, but many components have been reproduced from scratch in order to portray the distinctive anti-magnetic layer that was added to many German armored vehicles of the time. Thus, the glacis, hull sides, hull front and rear plate are all brand new. The Zimmerit coating is expertly and authentically done, and it looks just like it had been applied by a master modeler. All associated detail of the open-topped turret, hull and running gear is furnished, and it also utilizes Dragon;s highly acclaimed 2cm Flakvierling 38. This is a welcome kit, as it cancels the need for modelers to laboriously add putty all over their Early-Production Wirbelwind!

Soviet T-64 MOD 1972

A model of the brand Trumpeter the kit: Soviet T-64 MOD 1972 – Trumpeter 01578.

Features : The kit consists of over 550 parts -the kit w/refined detail -multi-slide moulded lower hull -plastic tracks links -Included Photo-etched parts & metal gun barrel

The T-64 was conceived in Kharkov as the next-generation main battle tank by Alexander A. Morozov, the designer of the T-54. A revolutionary feature of the T-64 is the incorporation of an automatic loader for its 125-mm gun, allowing a crewmember’s position to be omitted, and helping to keep the size and weight of the tank down, and the T-64B of 1976 would be able to fire a guided antitank missile through its gun barrel. The T-64 would be used only by the Soviet Army and never exported, unlike the T-54/55. It was superior to these tanks in most qualitative terms, until the introduction of the T-72B model in 1985. The tank equipped elite and regular formations in Eastern Europe and elsewhere, the T-64A model being first deployed with East Germany’s Group of Soviet Forces in Germany (GSFG) in 1976, and some time later in Hungary’s Southern Group of Forces (SFG). By 1981 the improved T-64B began to be deployed in East Germany and later in Hungary.

It was one of a series of “Elswick Export Cruisers” built for the navies of China,Chile and Japan. The Cheh Yuen, and sister ship Ching Yuen, were built for the Chinese Peiyang Fleet in 1887. These ships had a displacement of 2,355 tons and had a speed of 18 knots .They were armed with 3×210mm,2×150mm and 8×57mm guns and 4×457mm torpedo tubes. Though fast and well armed the Royal Navy though the class too lightly protected .Commanded by Captain Deng Shichang ,the Chih Yuen took part in the battle of the Yalu River on 17th September,1894 against the Imperial Japanese Navy .The ship fought well, and badly damaded she tried to ram the IJN Yoshino (also an Elswick Cruiser built for Japan). However she sank under heavy fire before she could ram the enimy ship.
