Фото галерия на 1000000000000000000000, Terrängbil m/42 KP (Tgbil m/42 SKP/VKP), meaning “Off-road vehicle 42” with a secondary designation of “Scania, Bodywork: Armoured” or “Volvo, Bodywork: Armoured”, was the Swedish army’s first armoured personnel carrier, developed as a stop-gap measure during World War II. In 1941, when tanks were organized into a unit of their own, it was clear there was a desperate need for a troop carrier able to both keep up with the tanks and provide protection against artillery shrapnel and small-arms fire. Due to the war there were no international suppliers to buy from, so the only option was to develop a domestic solution. AB Landsverk designed an APC consisting of a chassis from a regular army lorry equipped with an armoured shell.

Повече информация:

The SKP M-42 Armoured Personnel Carrier was a Swedish vehicle designed and built during World War II to transport infantry in support of armoured columns. It was based on a standard truck chassis from either Scania or Volvo, with an armoured body that had a sloped and hexagonal shape. The vehicle could carry up to 16 fully equipped soldiers in an open compartment at the rear, and was initially unarmed. Later variants added machine guns for anti-aircraft or anti-infantry purposes, as well as smoke grenade launchers and firing ports. The SKP M-42 was also notable for having a V-shaped hull that helped deflect the blast of mines or explosives. The vehicle served in the Swedish Army until the 2000s, and also saw action in peacekeeping missions in Congo in the 1960s.
