Tthe 오펠 올림피아 is a compact car produced by the German automaker Opel from 1935 to 1940, from 1947 to 1953 and again from 1967 to 1970. The 1935 Olympia was Germany’s first mass-produced car with an all-steel unitized body (monocoque). This revolutionary technology reduced the weight of the car by 180 kilograms (400 lb.) compared to its predecessor. Production of the unibody design required new production methods and materials. Spot welding, advanced types of steel, and a new production line layout were among the many advances introduced by the Olympia.

더 많은 정보:

The Opel Olympia was a compact car produced by the German automaker Opel from 1935 to 1953. It was one of the first cars in the world to have a unitary body structure, which reduced its weight and improved its aerodynamics. The Olympia was named after the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games, where it was showcased as a modern and affordable vehicle for the masses.
The Olympia had a 1.3-liter, four-cylinder, side-valve engine that delivered 24 horsepower and a top speed of 95 km/h. It was available as a two-door saloon or a two-door cabriolet, with independent front suspension and a live axle at the rear. The car had a three-speed manual transmission, which was upgraded to a four-speed unit in 1937.
The Olympia was a commercial success for Opel, selling over 81,000 units between 1935 and 1937. It was also assembled in Jakarta, Indonesia, then part of the Netherlands East Indies. The Olympia was replaced by a new model in 1938, which had a larger 1.5-liter engine and a more streamlined design.
The Olympia name was revived after World War II for another compact car that continued from 1947 to 1953. In 1953, it was renamed as the Opel Olympia Rekord, which featured more modern styling and technology. The Olympia name was used again from 1967 to 1970 for a luxury version of the Opel Kadett B.
