el K30 se anunció por primera vez como un proyecto en 1983 con 600 personas realizando investigaciones y alrededor de 10 mil millones de wones gastados en investigación y desarrollo. En septiembre de 2001, la producción de prototipos se realizó bajo Tong-il Heavy Industries antes de que Doosan Infracore firmara un contrato con el Programa de Adquisiciones de Defensa de Corea en 2007. En 2002 se realizó un primer pedido para suministrar el K30.

The K30 Biho is a South Korean short-range self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) system. It was designed to provide close-in air defense against low-flying aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for ground forces.
