Irak je bio glavni operater T-54/55 tenkova serije i naručili su svojih prvih 250 T-54 iz bivšeg Sovjetskog Saveza 1958, a zatim još 50 1965. Mnogi od njih su izgubljeni tokom Jom Kipur rata tako da je 300 T-55 naručeno 1973. Usledile su i druge kupovine: 50 odnosno 400 T-55 iz viška deonica Istočne Nemačke i Poljske 1980; 250 T-55 i 150 TR-580 (rumunska verzija T-55) iz Egipta i Rumunije 1981; još 400 T-55, uključujući neke primere iz Češke, iz bivšeg Sovjetskog Saveza 1981; a oko 1.500 tenkova Tipa 59 i Tipa 69 kupljeno je iz Kine tokom osamdesetih godina.

Tenkovi T-54 i T-55 su niz sovjetskih glavnih borbenih tenkova uvedenih u godinama posle Drugog svetskog rata. Prvi prototip T-54 završen je u Nizhny Tagilu do kraja 1945. Inicijalna proizvodna rampa se zadovoljila 1947. T-34-85 je i dalje činio 88 procenata proizvodnje kroz 50-te. T-54 je na kraju postao glavni tenk za oklopne jedinice sovjetske vojske, vojske zemalja Varšavskog pakta i mnoge druge. T-54 i T-55 su umešani u mnoge oružane sukobe u svetu od kasnijeg dela 20.

Piloti američke mornarice su dali nadimak Helldiver "Zver". To nije bio popularan avion, nije ga bilo lako leteti. Kurtisov avion je dizajnirao ovaj avion po specifikacijama američke mornarice, što ga je primoralo da bude premali za sve što je pokušavao da uradi – da ima dugačak domet, da nosi 1.000 kilograma i da bude izviđač/bombarder koji će zameniti Daglasa Dauntlessa. Mornarica se spremala za WW2, avionu je naređeno da uđe u proizvodnju pre nego što je prvi prototip poleteo. Posle dve godine, donekle su unapredili avion, ali nikada nisu mogli da prevaziđu osnovna ograničenja dizajna.

Samo zato što avion nije bio ratni pobednik, ne znači da ovo nije dobra knjiga. Ova serija knjiga ima odličnu, sažetu istoriju sa puno dijagrama, crno-belih fotografija i šema boja koje je mornarica koristila tokom WW2 i posle toga. Sve verzije su adresirane, što ovo čini odličnom knjigom za modelera ili ljubitelja avijacije.

A total of 1,715 Hurricanes flew with Fighter Command during the period of the Battle of Britain, far in excess of all other British fighters combined. The Hurricane was a robust, manoeuvrable aircraft capable of sustaining fearsome combat damage before write-off; and unlike the Spitfire, it was a wholly operational, go-anywhere do-anything fighter by July 1940.

It is estimated that its pilots were credited with four-fifths of all enemy aircraft destroyed in the period July-October 1940.

Le M12 Gun Motor Carriage est un canon automoteur blindé développé par l’armée américaine. À la suite de la Première Guerre mondiale, l’U.S Army Department s’intéressa au développement d’une artillerie lourde automotrice utilisant le canon de 155mm, mais il n’y eut pas de développement immédiat suite au peu d’enthousiasme de la branche de l’artillerie de campagne (FAB). C’est avec le second conflit mondial et la possibilité d’une opération sur un terrain de manœuvre comme l’Europe que cette arme fut réétudiée comme soutien d’artillerie pour les unités blindées. Cette idée fut reprise dès juin 1941 en associant le châssis du M3 Lee aux vieux canons français M1917 et M1918A1 de 155mm.

The PT-76 is one of several light amphibious tanks developed and used by the Soviet Army. Although the PT-76 is lightly armored for a modern tank, its inherent amphibious capability outweighs these limitations. It has had widespread use in the Warsaw Pact and many other countries. ThePT-76 carries a 76mm main gun with a maximum effective range of approximately 1500 meters.

Operated by a three man crew, the PT-76 is often used to transport troops. The fact that the commander is also the gunner and radio operator reduces his effectiveness as an observer. The PT-76 also lagged behind other Soviet armored fighting vehicles in having no night vision equipment and no NBC protection system for the three-man crew.
