The Bell H-13 Sioux (military designation for the Bell Model 47) was the first helicopter certified for civil use in 1946 and became a highly successful military light utility and observation platform. The UH-13H (originally OH-13H) was one of the later, more powerful variants, based on the commercial Bell 47G-2.
