The Panhard EBR (Engin Blindé de Reconnaissance) is a French armoured car that was designed by Panhard and used by various armies around the world. It was first produced in 1951 and served in conflicts such as the Algerian War and the Portuguese Colonial War. The EBR had a unique design with eight wheels, four of which could be lifted for road driving, and two driver positions that allowed it to reverse direction quickly. The EBR also had an oscillating turret with a 75 mm or 90 mm gun and three or four machine guns. The EBR was known for its speed, mobility and resistance to mines. It was retired from service in 1984.
