Več informacij:

The Sikorsky CH-37 Mojave was a large heavy-lift helicopter that served in the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps in the 1950s and 1960s. It was designed by Sikorsky Aircraft as an assault transport helicopter with a capacity of 26 fully equipped Marines. The CH-37 Mojave had two Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial engines mounted in outboard pods that also contained the retractable landing gear. The fuselage had a spacious cargo compartment that could be accessed through clamshell doors in the nose. The main rotor blades and the tail rotor mast could be folded for storage. The CH-37 Mojave was one of the last heavy helicopters to use piston engines, which were less powerful and more bulky than the turboshaft engines used in later models. This limited its performance and service life, and it was replaced by the Sikorsky CH-54 Tarhe and the Sikorsky CH-53 Sea Stallion by the late 1960s. The CH-37 Mojave was also used for recovering downed aircraft and retrieving film capsules from space.
