The Sikorsky H-19 Chickasaw, (also known by its Sikorsky model number, S-55) was a multi-purpose helicopter used by the United States Army and United States Air Force. It was also license-built by Westland Aircraft as the Westland Whirlwind in the United Kingdom. United States Navy and United States Coast Guard models were designated HO4S, while those of the U.S. Marine Corps were designated HRS. In 1962, the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Marine Corps versions were all redesignated as H-19s like their U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force counterparts.

Sikorsky submitted the S-70 design for the United States Army’s Utility Tactical Transport Aircraft System (UTTAS) competition in 1972. The Army designated the prototype as the YUH-60A and selected the Black Hawk as the winner of the program in 1976, after a fly-off competition with the Boeing Vertol YUH-61.

Development started in September 1942 in response to United States Army Air Forces requirement for a fighter possessing an extremely high rate of climb, using the most powerful liquid-cooled engine then available, the Allison V-3420. The program was cancelled after only a small number of prototypes and production aircraft had been completed, as it was no longer required in its original role, could not be quickly deployed, and possessed no significant advantages over aircraft already in production.

It was first observed by the west in 1954. There is also a Chinese copy, called Type 59. For many years, the M-46 was one of the longest range artillery systems around, with a range of more than 27 km.

The parts of the American and French manufactured guns are identical and therefore interchangeable. The gun is the built-up type. Name and model are stamped on the left side of the breech hoop. Name of manufacturer, year of manufacture, serial number and weight, including breech mechanism, are stamped on the muzzle. Data on guns bought from France will be found on top of breech end. M1897A4 and M1897A2 – The M1897A4 gun is a modification of the 75-mm gun, M1897 (French). The modification consists of the removal of rollers and sweeper plates with felt pads, and elimination of a portion of the jacket of the gun which is replaced by steel rails and bronze strips attached to supports on the gun. M1897A2 gun is standard for new manufacture and is similar in design to the 75-mm gun, M1897A4

The Messerschmitt Me208 was an enlarged version of a Messerschmitt Bf 108 with a retractable tricycle landing gear. Two prototypes were built by SNCAN (Nord) in France during the war. Construction of the Messerschmitt Bf 108 was transferred to the Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques du Nord (usually known simply as Nord) at Les Mureaux, to the West of Paris, in occupied France in 1942. The company built two prototypes of the Messerschmitt Me 208 during 1943/44. One survived the liberation and was redesignated Nord 1100. Nord built 200 production examples of the Noralpha and these served as communications aircraft with the French Air Force and French Navy. Later, many examples were civilianised.
