Den Panter är en tysk medeltung stridsvagn utplacerad under andra världskriget på öst- och västfronten i Europa från mitten av 1943 till krigets slut 1945. Den hade ammunitionsinventeringsbeteckningen Sd.Kfz. 171. Det betecknades som Panzerkampfwagen V Panther fram till den 27 februari 1944, då Hitler beordrade att den romerska siffran "V" skulle raderas. The Panzerkampfwagen V Panther (Sd.Kfz. 171) was a German medium tank deployed during World War II. It was designed as a direct response to the powerful Soviet T-34, which had surprised German forces on the Eastern Front.
