Joining Dragon’s previously released 1/35 scale plastic kit of a Desert Raider 4×4 Truck is this second kit with a different weapons configuration! The famed Special Air Service (SAS) of the British Army was formed in July 1941 by David Stirling. It was a commando force designed to operate deep behind enemy lines,something it did very successfully. Specially adapted vehicles were used in North Africa, including the famous 4×4 1/4-ton Truck, though heavily modified for its behind-the-lines role. The vehicle began appearing in July 1942. They were generally stripped down to save weight and, for operations in the hot climate,the grill was removed and a water condenser fitted. Weapons such as Lewis and Vickers K machine guns were mounted for use against ground or aerial targets.

O Douglas A-3"Guerreiro do céu"foi um bombardeiro nuclear estratégico desenvolvido para a Marinha dos EUA. A aeronave tinha uma fuselagem semi-monocoque em grande parte convencional, com dois motores turbojato J57 em naceles sob a asa, as asas do A-3 podem ser dobradas para armazenamento abaixo do convés, torre de cauda controlada por radar e uma tripulação de três. O projeto A-3 Skywarrior começou em 1947,O protótipo XA3D-1 voou pela primeira vez em 28 de outubro de 1952, entrou em serviço com o Esquadrão de Ataque Pesado da Marinha Um em 1956.A produção terminou em 1961. Douglas construiu um total de 282 Skywarriors.

The T-62 originally was conceived as a companion weapon to the T-55.Being Essentially a T55 up gunned with the2A20 115mm cannon. Both the T-55 and the T-62 Used the same wheels, track, engine, transmission, hatches and other fittings. The primary differences between the two vehicles were the T-62’s lengthened hull and new turret design. The new UT-5 can-non could fire its BR-5 APFSDS steel round through approximately 300mm of armor at a range of 1000 meters. This was adequate to deal with the then perceived threat of such NATO tanks as the American M-48 and later models of the British Centurion. The T-62 was meant to add long range firing capability to Soviet tank regiments being placed alongside T-55s, but in the later years of its deployment it fulfilled much the same role as the T-55. Despite being introduced in 1960, the improved performance of its successors, the T-72, the T-62 still sees service today in many of the world’s army the Arab nations being the largest consumers outside the Warsaw pact. Egypt, Iraq, and Syria have been notable users of the T-62, Israel has acquired a quantity of T-62s in clashes with its neighbors and has rebuilt them to IDF standards.

Como a Alemanha tentou se rearmar na década de 1930 no período que antecedeu a Segunda Guerra Mundial, a liderança militar confiou fortemente no Pz.Kpfw.I. Cerca de 1.493 exemplares de todos os tipos foram construídos e esses tanques leves serviram nas primeiras campanhas, embora fossem apenas plataformas de treinamento. A produção em massa do Ausf.A começou em 1934, enquanto o Ausf.B melhorado com um motor diferente apareceu em agosto de 1935. O Ausf.B era alongado e tinha cinco rodas de estrada por lado. O Panzer I era finamente blindado com apenas 13 mm de aço em seu ponto mais espesso. Operava com uma tripulação de dois – o comandante/artilheiro e o motorista. Uma versão incomum deste pequeno tanque foi o Abwurfvorrichtung, literalmente uma Camada de Carga de Demolição. Esses tanques modificados foram tipicamente encontrados no panzer-pionier-bataillon das divisões panzer em 1940, a tempo para a campanha na Europa Ocidental. A conversão consistia em um dispositivo montado no convés traseiro que poderia baixar uma carga explosiva de 50 kg sobre ou contra uma fortificação de campo antes de ser detonada.

O Siluro a lenta Corsa (SLC) or slow course torpedo, also know as the Maiale or Pig, was designed by the Italians in the late 1930s using the knowledge they had gained while pionnering midget submarines and special assault craft during the First World War. It was powered by an electric motor and had a charge-head containing 550lb (250Kg) on TNT. The early SLC served as a model for the British ‘Chariot’. Between 1941 and the Italian armistice of 1943 ‘human torpedos’ scored a number of successes against Aliied shipping. Their most famous attack came in 1941 in Alexandria harbour when three of them seriously damaged the British battleships Valiant and Queen Elizabeth. This is on of the later streamlined craft which fell into British hands after the occupation of Genoa in April 1945.

O Martin B-57 Canberra foi um bombardeiro tático bimotor a jato que equipou a Força Aérea dos Estados Unidos a partir de meados dos anos 50. Seu design aerodinâmico robusto e sua grande confiabilidade o tornaram ideal para o papel de bombardeiro tático e aeronave de reconhecimento. Foi equipado com dois motores turbojato Wright J65 e foi capaz de atingir 960 km / h. Graças ao seu compartimento de bombas e seus quatro hardpoints externos, foi capaz de transportar uma carga ofensiva de 3.300 kg. Durante suas longas atividades operacionais, várias versões foram desenvolvidas. Em particular, o B-57G, derivado do B-57B, foi desenvolvido como intruso noturno. Facilmente reconhecível pelo "radome" adicionado, o B-57G desempenhou um papel importante durante a Guerra do Vietnã para apoiar os combates ao longo da trilha de Ho Chi Minh. The subject of Dragon’s latest 1/72 scale plastic kit is a delightful model of the American-designed Sikorsky SH-3G Sea King helicopter. Originally, the twin-engine SH-3 Sea King was used primarily in the role of anti-submarine warfare (ASW) by the US Navy (USN). It was also the first amphibious helicopter in the world and it entered USN service in 1961. Various modifications occurred in its lifespan, with a total of 105 SH-3A and SH-3D craft being converted into the versatile SH-3G. The latter was a cargo, utility and transport helicopter used by the USN. In the 1990s the SH-3 Sea King was replaced by the SH-60 Seahawk in the USN. This 1/72 scale Dragon plastic model is well designed and cleverly engineered to induce maximum modeling enjoyment. The fuselage is correctly proportioned and it’s furnished with a full level of detail both inside and outside. It has a new part to plug the gap where the sonar was originally located. The foldable rotor blades are made to true scale thickness too. With appropriate Cartograf decal markings for several USN squadrons available, this SH-3G is ready to lift off in service of the navy!
