Tiger I, skrót od Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausführung E – Sonderkraftfahrzeug 181, niemiecki czołg ciężki w służbie w latach 1942-1945, był jednym z najbardziej znanych czołgów II wojny światowej, chociaż był rzadko produkowany w porównaniu z radzieckim T-34 lub amerykańskim Shermanem.

Le musée des blindés de Saumur ou musée des blindés Général-Estienne est un musée de véhicules blindés situé à Saumur.Plus de 800 engins sont présentés au public, dont 200 en état de marche. Autour du musée, un parc de blindés à l’état d’épaves attend leur restauration. On y trouve la presque totalité des engins blindés de l’armée française de 1917 à nos jours, du Schneider CA1 au Leclerc. Le matériel de la Seconde Guerre mondiale est bien représenté, avec une grande collection de chars allemands dont un exemplaire unique de Tigre Royal de 70 tonnes, mais aussi des autres belligérants (américain, britannique, italien, etc…).

Le canon d’assaut Sturmgeschütz III (StuG III) fut le véhicule blindé de combat produit au plus grand nombre d’exemplaires par l’Allemagne au cours de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il était construit sur le châssis du char Panzer III. Conçu au départ comme un canon léger blindé destiné à soutenir l’infanterie, le StuG fut continuellement modifié et fut largement employé comme chasseur de chars. La série des Sturmgeschütz est reconnue pour son excellent rapport prix/qualité. À la fin de la guerre, plus de 10 500 avaient été construits.

Tthe Czołg średni M4 est le char américain moyen produit en plus grande quantité pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Près de cinquante mille exemplaires (toutes versions confondues) furent produits. Son surnom de « Sherman », lui est attribué par les Britanniques, quand ils reçoivent leurs premiers exemplaires dans le cadre de la loi de prêt-bail, continuant leur tradition de nommer les chars d’origine américaine d’après le nom d’un général nordiste de la guerre de Sécession célèbre de ce pays. L’US Army adopte par la suite ce surnom, et le Medium Tank M4 est dès lors appelé « M4 Sherman ». Les Soviétiques surnomment les leurs « Emcha ».

Opancerzony pojazd półgąsienicowy był pierwszym transporterem opancerzonym armii amerykańskiej, który został użyty operacyjnie. Został zbudowany i intensywnie użytkowany podczas II wojny światowej i kontynuował swoją karierę daleko poza Bliskim Wschodem, gdzie był używany w wielu wersjach w Izraelu i Libanie (SLA). Zestaw z akcesoriami marki Verlinden: “RSO Pak 75mm Stowage-Ammo-Crew – Verlinden 2679”.

Le manque d’artillerie mobile dans l’armée allemande aboutit à ce qu’un canon anti-char PaK 40/1 de 7,5cm soit intégré à chaque RSO. Le résultat fut un véhicule de poids léger, mobile donc, mais très vulnérable aux armes anti-chars car ce dernier ne possédait pas de blindage ni d’armement de défense. La combinaison du RSO et du PaK 40 fut hélas appliquée tardivement, seulement vers 1944/45.

Seria niemieckich prototypów Neubaufahrzeug ( Neubaufahrzeug ) była to pierwsza próba stworzenia czołgu ciężkiego dla Wehrmachtu. Wielowieżowe, ciężkie i powolne, czołgi te nie pasowały do taktyki Blitzkriegu i nie zostały wprowadzone do produkcji. Prototypy, wykonane ze stali miękkiej, były wykorzystywane do celów propagandowych, chociaż trzy brały udział w kampanii norweskiej w 1940 roku, głównie w celu zastraszenia.
