De Bushmaster 2000 was een klein forensenvliegtuig gebouwd in de Verenigde Staten in een poging om het Ford Trimotor-ontwerp nieuw leven in te blazen. Het werk begon in 1953 met het testen van een vintage Trimotor en in 1954 kocht Bill Stout de ontwerprechten van de originele Trimotor. Vanwege "Ford Tri-Motor" licentieproblemen kreeg de Ford 15-AT-D de naam Bushmaster 2000. Op 15 januari 1955 kondigden Stout en partner Robert Hayden van de Hayden Aircraft Corporation aan dat ze van plan waren om 1.000 nieuwe Bushmasters te bouwen, maar het zou elf jaar duren voordat het eerste prototype van het nieuwe ontwerp vloog.

General Characteristics and Design
The Stout Bushmaster 2000 was a small commuter airliner built in the United States during the 1960s and 1980s. It was an ambitious, modernized attempt to revive the design of the famous Ford Tri-Motor (“Tin Goose”) from the 1920s. Bill Stout, the original designer of the Tri-Motor, bought back the design rights with the intent to produce a simple, rugged, and economical transport aircraft for the “bush flying” market. Although the Bushmaster 2000 featured modern engines, hydraulic brakes, larger windows, and a lighter aluminum-alloy skin, only two examples were ever completed due to competition from contemporary designs and financial issues.
