De Northrop Grumman EA-6B Prowler is een tweemotorig, vierzits, mid-wing elektronisch oorlogsvliegtuig afgeleid van het A-6 Intruder casco. De EA-6A was de eerste elektronische oorlogsvoeringsversie van de A-6 die werd gebruikt door het United States Marine Corps en de United States Navy. De ontwikkeling van de meer geavanceerde EA-6B begon in 1966. Een EA-6B-vliegtuigbemanning bestaat uit één piloot en drie Electronic Countermeasures Officers, hoewel het niet ongebruikelijk is dat slechts twee ECMO's worden gebruikt voor missies. Het is in staat om anti-stralingsraketten (ARM) te dragen en af te vuren, zoals de AGM-88 HARM-raket.

The Northrop Grumman EA-6B Prowler is a twin-engine, four-seat, mid-wing electronic warfare aircraft derived from the A-6 Intruder airframe. The EA-6B has been in service with the U.S. Armed Forces from 1971 until 2019, when it was replaced by the EA-18G Growler. The EA-6B’s primary mission was to support strike aircraft and ground forces by jamming enemy radar, electronic data links, and communications. The EA-6B also had the capability to carry and fire anti-radiation missiles (ARM), such as the AGM-88 HARM missile. The EA-6B was a key asset in both conventional and asymmetric warfare scenarios, providing situational awareness, electronic protection, and electronic attack to the joint force.
