A Robinson R44 egy négyüléses könnyű helikopter, amelyet a Robinson Helicopter Company gyárt 1992 óta. A vállalat kétüléses Robinson R22-jén alapuló R44 hidraulikusan támogatott repülésvezérlőkkel rendelkezik. Először 1990. március 31-én repült, és 1992 decemberében kapta meg az FAA tanúsítványt, az első szállításra 1993 februárjában került sor.

Design and Powerplant

Engine: One Lycoming IO-540-AE1A5 six-cylinder, fuel-injected piston engine (Raven II). The Raven I uses a carbureted O-540.
Horsepower: Derated to 245 hp for takeoff and 205 hp continuous (Raven II).
Rotor System: Semi-rigid two-bladed main rotor and a two-bladed tail rotor.
Controls: Features hydraulically boosted controls to reduce pilot effort and enhance maneuverability.
