Lla Northrop Grumman RQ-4 Faucon mondial est un avion de surveillance sans pilote (UAV). Il a été initialement conçu par Ryan Aeronautical (qui fait maintenant partie de Northrop Grumman), et connu sous le nom de Tier II+ pendant le développement. Le Global Hawk joue un rôle similaire à celui du Lockheed U-2. Le RQ-4 offre une vue d’ensemble large et une surveillance systématique à l’aide de radars à ouverture synthétique à haute résolution (SAR) et de capteurs électro-optiques/infrarouges à longue portée (EO/IR) avec de longs temps de flânerie au-dessus des zones cibles. Il peut arpenter jusqu’à 40 000 milles carrés (100 000 km2) de terrain par jour.

The Global Hawk can fly for over 30 hours at altitudes of up to 60,000 feet, covering more than 40,000 square kilometers of terrain in a single sortie.
The Global Hawk carries a variety of sensors, including electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR), synthetic aperture radar (SAR), and signals intelligence (SIGINT) payloads, providing near-real-time imagery and data to commanders and analysts. The Global Hawk is operated by the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Navy, and several allied nations, such as Australia, Japan, and NATO. The Global Hawk has been deployed in various operations and contingencies around the world, such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and the Asia-Pacific region.
