Hellmut G. Haasis Narodil se v roce 1942 ve městě Mühlacker v jihozápadním Německu. Studoval teologii, historii, sociologii a politologii. Je autorem knih Joseph Süß Oppenheimer, genannt Jud Süß: Finanzier, Freidenker, Justizopfer a ze dne Tod in Prag: Das Attentat auf Reinhard Heydrich. Publikoval také povídky, básně, dramata a rozhlasové hry, stejně jako román ve švábském dialektu. Je držitelem ceny Thaddäus Troll, Schubart prize a Civis prize.William Odom studoval na Freie Üniversität Berlin, vstoupil na univerzitu v roce 1961, když začala stavba zdi. Je držitelem titulu Ph.D. z němčiny na Tulane University. Je autorem knih Němčina pro zpěváky a překladatel JAZZ: Historie fotografií od Joachim-Ernst Berendt, Hörspiel: Sbírka současných německých rozhlasových hera Zítra budeme ve Švýcarsku: Zachraňujeme děti z La Hille od Klause Ihlaua.
