1. Къртис P-6 Хоук was a biplane fighter aircraft developed by the Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company in the late 1920s and early 1930s. It was one of the most successful and widely used fighters of the United States Army Air Corps in the interwar period.
The P-6 Hawk was based on the earlier P-1 Hawk, but featured a more powerful engine, a streamlined fuselage, and improved aerodynamics. The P-6 Hawk was also the first Curtiss fighter to have a retractable landing gear, which reduced drag and increased speed. The P-6 Hawk had a top speed of 204 mph (328 km/h) and a range of 342 mi (550 km).
The P-6 Hawk entered service in 1929 and served until 1937. It was used for various roles, such as air defense, interception, escort, reconnaissance, and training. The P-6 Hawk was also exported to several countries, such as China, Cuba, Honduras, and Thailand. The P-6 Hawk was praised for its maneuverability, stability, and reliability. It was also known for its distinctive appearance, with a large radiator under the nose and a colorful paint scheme.

In 1934, a P-6 Hawk flown by Benjamin Kelsey made the first successful mid-air refueling of a fighter aircraft.
