The Hummel (bourdon en allemand) était un canon automoteur basé sur une combinaison des deux chars PzKpfw III et IV, et armé d’un canon de 15-cm FH 18/1, pouvant tirer des projectiles de 43,5 kg à une distance de 13 325 mètres. Il fut utilisé par la Wehrmacht au cours de la Seconde Guerre mondiale de la fin 1942 jusqu’à la fin de la guerre. Sa désignation complète était Panzerfeldhaubitze 18M auf Geschützwagen III/IV (Sf) Hummel, Sd.Kfz.. On February 27, 1944, Adolf Hitler ordered the name Hummel to be abandoned, which he found unsuitable for a combat vehicle.

Les ailes elliptiques du Spitfire lui ont donné une apparence très reconnaissable ; leur section transversale mince lui a donné une vitesse impressionnante ; la conception brillante du concepteur en chef Reginald Mitchell et de ses successeurs (il est mort en 1937), a fait du Spitfire un avion apprécié par les pilotes. Il a servi pendant toute la durée de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, et avec toutes ses variantes a été de tous les combats. Plus de 20 300 appareils furent construits, et les Spitfire sont restés en service jusque dans les années 1950. The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was a World War II era fighter aircraft produced by the United States from 1941 through 1945. Its primary armament was eight .50-caliber machine guns and in the fighter-bomber ground-attack role it could carry five-inch rockets or a bomb load of 2,500 pounds (1,103 kg). When fully loaded, the P-47 weighed up to eight tons, making it one of the heaviest fighters of the war. The P-47 was designed around the powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp engine, which was also used by two U.S. Navy/U.S. Marine Corps fighters, the Grumman F6F Hellcat and the Vought F4U Corsair. The Thunderbolt was effective as a short-to medium-range escort fighter in high-altitude air-to-air combat and ground attack in both the European and Pacific theaters.

Dans les années 1930 BMW a produit un certain nombre de motos populaires et très efficaces. En 1938, le développement du R75 a commencé en réponse à une demande de l’armée allemande. Modèles de préproduction de l’été R75 propulsée par un moteur 750 cc côté de la valve, qui était basé sur le moteur de R12 prouvé. Il est toutefois rapidement apparu nécessaire de concevoir un tout nouveau moteur 750 cc à soupapes en tête pour l’unité R75.

Le Grumman TBF Avenger (désigné aussi TBM pour ceux qui ont été construits par General Motors) est un bombardier-torpilleur américain initialement développé pour la Marine des États-Unis et le Corps des Marines des États-Unis et utilisé par un grand nombre de forces aériennes dans le monde. Il entra en service en 1942 et fut utilisé pour la première fois au cours de la bataille de Midway. Le TBD Devastator, le principal bombardier-torpilleur de la Marine américaine de 1935 à 1942 était déjà obsolète en 1939. Grumman développa un nouvel avion dont le premier prototype fut appelé XTBF-1.

The Cromwell tank, officially Tank, Cruiser, Mk VIII, Cromwell (A27M), was one of the series of cruiser tanks fielded by Britain in the Second World War. Named after the English Civil War leader Oliver Cromwell, the Cromwell was the first tank put into service by the British to combine high speed from a powerful and reliable engine (the Rolls-Royce Meteor), and reasonable armour. However, the originally proposed dual-purpose high velocity gun could not be fitted in the turret and the medium velocity dual purpose gun fitted proved inadequate. An improved version with a high velocity gun became the Comet tank.

The Vought F4U Corsair is an American fighter aircraft that saw service primarily in World War II and the Korean War. Demand for the aircraft soon overwhelmed Vought’s manufacturing capability, resulting in production by Goodyear and Brewster: Goodyear-built Corsairs were designated FG and Brewster-built aircraft F3A. From the first prototype delivery to the U.S. Navy in 1940, to final delivery in 1953 to the French, 12,571 F4U Corsairs were manufactured, in 16 separate models, in the longest production run of any piston-engined fighter in U.S. history (1942–53).

The self-propelled gun Grid (meaning "cricket" in German) was used by the Wehrmacht during World War II. Two versions existed, both based on the chassis of the Czech Panzer 38(t) tank equipped with a 150 mm sIG 33 infantry gun. It was significantly more successful than the bison 15 cm sIG 33 (Sf) auf Panzerkampfwagen I Ausf B and 15 cm sIG 33 auf Fahrgestell Panzerkampfwagen II.
