Description	Le char “Russian T34”

Le T-34 est un char moyen entré en service en 1940 au sein de l’armée rouge. Il constitue à l’époque un remarquable équilibre entre les trois facteurs majeurs qui définissent la qualité d’un blindé, à savoir : la puissance de feu, la protection et la mobilité. Cette réussite en fait l’un des atouts de l’Union soviétique face à l’invasion de la Wehrmacht.

Celle-ci devra d’ailleurs, pour le contrer, revoir sa politique de conception de blindés en mettant au point, par exemple, le Panzer-V ‘Panther’, qui empruntait une partie de ses caractéristiques techniques au T-34. Bien que rapidement dépassé lui même par les productions étrangères, le T-34 va tout de même rester en production de 1940 à 1958, avec un total d’unités produites estimé à 84 070 exemplaires, ce qui en fait le second char le plus produit de tous les temps, juste derrière ses successeurs, les T-54 et T-55.

The Light Tank (Airborne) M22 is an American light tank that can be transported by air used during World War II. The British ignited them Locust (grasshopper).
The Light Tank M24 was a light tank produced by the United States and used during World War II and in post-war conflicts such as the Korean War. He was appointed Chaffee by the British in honour of General Adna R. Chaffee Jr., who contributed to the development of the use of tanks in the American armed forces.

The SdKfz 161 Panzerkampfwagen IV (PzKpfW IV), called " Panzer IV was a middle-class tank used by the German army during World War II. Originally designed as a fire support tank and armed with a 75 mm short KwK 37 L/24 gun for the Panzer IV Ausf. A / B / C / D / E / F, it was rearmed with a long anti-tank gun 75 mm KwK 40 L/43 from March 1942 for the Panzer IV Ausf. F2 / G / H / J. the PzKpfW IV was the Panzerwaffe's most widely used tank, with 9,000 copies produced, and it spawned many versions.

Le 11 janvier 1934 la direction de l’armement de la Wehrmacht, le Heereswaffenamt, demanda l’étude d’un char « lourd » (il devint « moyen » avec l’apparition du « Tiger ») pour appuyer les Panzerkampfwagen III « moyens », en cours d’étude eux aussi, en fournissant des tirs anti-personnels grâce à un canon de 75 mm à faible vitesse initiale. Le véhicule ne devait pas excéder la masse de vingt quatre tonnes, pour pouvoir emprunter les ponts de campagne, et être capable d’une vitesse de 35 km/h sur route. En 1935, suite aux essais de différents prototypes, le projet des usines Krupp fut sélectionné pour la construction en série. Le premier PzKpfW IV « A » sortit d’usine en octobre 1937.

– The M103 heavy tank served the United States Army and the US Marines during the Cold War. Until the development of the M1A1 in the mid 1980s, it was the heaviest and most heavily-armed tank in US service. The M103 was manufactured at the Detroit Arsenal Tank Plant and the first units were accepted in 1957.

– Le char M41 Walker Bulldog est un char de combat léger américain, qui a été conçu pour remplacer le char M24 Chaffee. Sa production a commencé en 1951 et il servit aussitôt durant la guerre de Corée. Il fut exporté dans plusieurs pays et combattit aussi bien durant la guerre du Vietnam qu’en Somalie.

The Junkers Ju 52 (nicknamed Aunt Ju in German, Iron Annie by the English), was a corrugated iron transport aircraft manufactured by the German firm Junkers from the 1930s. Built to more than 4800 copies, it was used by many airlines, but also as a military transport aircraft and bomber during the Second World War. Proof of its robustness, three copies of the Junkers Ju 52 were used by the Swiss army until the 1980s.The Junkers Ju 52 completed their first military missions during the Spanish War, within the Condor Legion. They are then used both as transport aircraft and as bombers. They then played a decisive role in the airborne operations at the beginning of the Second World War in the Benelux in 1940 and against Crete in 1941, even if the losses quickly became significant.

The Hotchkiss H35 or Light Tank model 1935 H is a French light tank, from the 1930s. A better-powered version, the Hotchkiss H-39, was derived from it in 1939.

Le char Somua S35 était un véhicule blindé de la Seconde Guerre mondiale construit par Somua, considéré comme le meilleur char de combat français en 1940. Produit à 430 exemplaires, il était rapide, correctement blindé (ce fut le premier char de l’histoire équipé d’un blindage incliné, plus résistant pour autant d’épaisseur) et armé d’un canon de 47 mm. Équipé d’une tourelle monoplace, le chef de char faisait office de canonnier, ce qui empêchait de tirer pleinement parti de l’armement principal.

The SdKfz 171 Panzer V Panther était un char de combat utilisé par l’armée allemande pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, de juillet 1943 lors de la bataille de Koursk, au 8 mai 1945. Conçu pour contrer le char T-34 soviétique et remplacer les Panzerkampfwagen III et les Panzerkampfwagen IV, il servit en définitive à leurs côtés, jusqu’à la fin de la guerre, en trois versions principales : « D », « A », « G ». Une dernière version « F » ou « Panther II » était prévue, avant le remplacement définitif du « Panther » par le char « E-50 ».

The Sonderkraftfahrzeug 251 (SdKfz 251) (littéralement : véhicule de combat spécial) était un véhicule blindé allemand semi-chenillé de combat construit durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, qui fut produit tout au long du conflit. Sa classification dans la Heer correspond à Schützenpanzer (Véhicule de combat d’infanterie). Le Hanomag Sdkfz 251 was primarily intended to equip the Panzer Divisions and Panzergrenadieren units and shared many mechanical elements with the SdKfz 7.

The Medium Tank M4 est le char américain moyen produit en plus grande quantité pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Près de cinquante mille exemplaires (toutes versions confondues) furent produits. Son surnom de « Sherman », lui est attribué par les Britanniques, quand ils reçoivent leurs premiers exemplaires dans le cadre de la loi de prêt-bail, continuant leur tradition de nommer les chars d’origine américaine d’après le nom d’un général nordiste de la guerre de Sécession célèbre de ce pays. L’US Army adopte par la suite ce surnom, et le Medium Tank M4 est dès lors appelé « M4 Sherman ». Les Soviétiques surnomment les leurs « Emcha ». Le M-50 en est une évolution Israélienne.
