Hellmut G. Haasis föddes 1942 i staden Mühlacker i sydvästra Tyskland. Han studerade bland annat teologi, historia, sociologi och statsvetenskap. Han är författare till Joseph Süß Oppenheimer, genannt Jud Süß: Finanzier, Freidenker, Justizopfer och av Tod in Prag: Das Attentat auf Reinhard Heydrich. Han har också publicerat noveller, dikter, dramer och radiopjäser, samt en roman på schwabisk dialekt. Han har tilldelats Thaddäus Troll-priset, Schubart-priset och Civis-priset.William Odom Har studerat vid Freie Üniversität Berlin, som kom in på universitetet 1961 när byggandet av muren påbörjades. Han har en doktorsexamen i tyska från Tulane University. Han är författare till Tyska för sångare och översättare av JAZZ: En fotohistoria av Joachim-Ernst Berendt, Hörspiel: En samling samtida tyska radiopjäseroch I morgon är vi i Schweiz: Rädda barnen i La Hille av Klaus Ihlau.
