More info:

The Yak-28 Firebar was a supersonic jet fighter-bomber developed by the Soviet Union in the late 1950s. It was based on the Yak-27 airframe, but featured a new nose section with a radar and two turbojet engines with afterburners. The Yak-28 had a swept-wing design and a tailless configuration, which gave it high speed and maneuverability. The Yak-28 was initially designed as a tactical bomber, capable of carrying nuclear or conventional weapons. It was also adapted for various other roles, such as reconnaissance, interceptor, trainer, and electronic warfare. The Yak-28 entered service in 1960 and was widely used by the Soviet Air Force and its allies until the late 1980s. It saw combat action in several conflicts, such as the Vietnam War, the Six-Day War, and the Soviet-Afghan War. The Yak-28 was retired from active duty in 1992 and replaced by more modern aircraft.
