The Fokker S-11 Instructor Aircraft was a post-war trainer developed by the Dutch company Fokker. It was a single-engine, two-seat, low-wing monoplane with a fixed tailwheel landing gear. The S-11 was designed to provide basic and advanced instruction for military pilots, and could accommodate a third passenger in the rear cockpit. The S-11 first flew in 1947 and entered service with the Royal Netherlands Air Force and Navy in 1948. It was also exported to several countries, including Israel, Italy, Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay. Some of the S-11s were built under license by Macchi in Italy as the M.416 and by Fokker Brazil as the T-21. A variant with tricycle landing gear, the S-12, was also produced for the Brazilian Air Force as the T-22. The S-11 Instructor Aircraft was a reliable and versatile trainer that served for many years in various roles. Some of them are still flying today as historic aircraft.
