Fotogalerie eines Leopard 2E, Die Leopard 2E (E steht für Spanien, Spanisch für Spanien) ist eine Variante des deutschen Kampfpanzers Leopard 2, zugeschnitten auf die Bedürfnisse der spanischen Armee, die sie im Rahmen eines Rüstungsmodernisierungsprogramms namens Programa Coraza oder Program Breastplate erworben hat. Das Anschaffungsprogramm für den Leopard 2E begann 1994, fünf Jahre nach der Absage des Lince-Panzerprogramms, das 1998 in einer Vereinbarung zur Überführung von 108 Leopard 2A4 an die spanische Armee gipfelte und im Dezember 2003 mit der lokalen Produktion des Leopard 2E begann. Trotz produktionsbedingter Produktionsverschiebungen aufgrund der Fusion von Santa Bérbara Sistemas und General Dynamics im Jahr 2003 und fortgesetzter Fertigungsprobleme zwischen 2006 und 2007 wurden 219 Leopard 2Es an die spanische Armee ausgeliefert.
