Klíčové vlastnosti

  • Light Tank: The L6/40 was a relatively small and lightweight tank, designed for reconnaissance and infantry support.
  • Light Armor: Its armor, while sufficient to protect against small arms fire, was vulnerable to enemy anti-tank guns.

  • Mobility: Its suspension provided good mobility on rough terrain, which was an advantage for operations in North Africa.
  • Reliability: The L6/40 was relatively reliable but suffered from recurring mechanical problems.

Usage

The L6/40 was used on all fronts where the Italians fought: in North Africa, Eastern Europe, and Italy. It was used for reconnaissance, infantry support, and sometimes even as a tank destroyer. However, its limited performance quickly made it obsolete against more modern enemy tanks.
