One truck, an M54 named by its crew “Eve of Destruction” was brought back intact and is on display at the Army Transportation Museum at Fort Eustis, Virginia.

A post–World War II revision of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress, it was fitted with more powerful Pratt & Whitney R-4360 radial engines, stronger structure, a taller tail fin, and other improvements. It was the last piston-engined bomber designed by Boeing for the United States Air Force (except the never-completed B-54, a derivative of the B-50). Not as well known as its direct predecessor, the B-50 was in USAF service for nearly 20 years.

It was named in honour of General Philippe Leclerc de Hauteclocque who led the French element of the drive towards Paris while in command of the Free French 2nd Armoured Division (2ème DB) in World War II. The Leclerc is in service with the French Army and the army of the United Arab Emirates. In production since 1991, the Leclerc entered French service in 1992, replacing the AMX 30 as the country’s main armoured platform. With production now complete, the French Army has a total of 406 Leclerc and the United Arab Emirates Army has 388.

1. Северна Америка B-45 Торнадо was the United States Air Force’s (USAF) first operational jet bomber, and the first multijet engined bomber in the world to be refueled in midair. The B-45 was an important part of the United States’s nuclear deterrent for several years in the early 1950s, but was soon superseded by the Boeing B-47 Stratojet. B-45s and RB-45s served in the United States Air Force’s Strategic Air Command from 1950 until 1959.

1. Центурион ARV Mk II, was a British armored recovery vehicle based on the Centurion main battle tank. The Centurion, introduced in 1945, was the primary British main battle tank of the post-World War II period. It is widely considered to be one of the most successful post-war tank designs, remaining in production into the 1960s, and seeing combat in the front lines into the 1980s. The chassis was also adapted for several other roles, and these have remained in service to this day. FV 4006 Центурион ARV Mk 2 : (1956) – корпус Mk 1 / Mk 2 / Mk 3 с купола, заменен от надстройка, в която се помещава лебедка. Фото галерия на FV3902 Чърчил Флайл Жаба, A mine flail is a vehicle-mounted device that makes a safe path through a mine-field by deliberately detonating land mines in front of the vehicle that carries it. They were first used by the British during World War II. The mine flail consists of a number of heavy chains, ending in fist-sized steel balls, (flails) that are attached to a horizontal, rapidly rotating rotor mounted on two arms in front of the vehicle. The rotor’s rotation makes the flails spin wildly and violently pound the ground. The force of a flail strike above a buried mine mimics the weight of a person or vehicle and causes the mine to detonate, but in a safe manner that does little damage to the flails or the vehicle.
