Description

Le char PanzerKampfwagen III

Le SdKfz 141 Panzerkampfwagen III (PzKpfw III), or Panzer III, is a German tank, designed in the late 1930s and used extensively during the first phase of World War II. It was developed to engage enemy armoured vehicles (first with a 3.7-cm KwK 36 L/45 anti-tank gun, then from October 1940 with a 5-cm KwK 38 L/42, then a 5-cm L/60 in June 1942), while the Panzer IV, which was contemporary to it, had been planned to provide support fire to infantry troops with a 7.5-cm KwK 37 L/24. However, with the emergence of increasingly protected Allied tanks, only the Panzer IV was able to carry weapons capable of destroying them (with a 7.5-cm KwK 40 L/43 cannon from March 1942), and it supplanted the Panzer III as the main tank of the Wehrmacht. But despite the fact that the Panzer III was totally overtaken by the beginning of 1942, it was still engaged en masse at the Battle of Kursk in July 1943.

Signed documentation Wydawnictwo Militaria the book "T-34 - Wydawnictwo 316" .

History: The T-34 was a medium tank that entered service in 1940 with the Red Army. At the time, it was a remarkable balance between the three major factors that defined the quality of an armoured vehicle: firepower, protection and mobility. This success made it one of the Soviet Union's strengths in the face of the invasion of the Wehrmacht. In order to counter it, it will have to revise its armoured design policy by developing, for example, the Panzer-V 'Panther', which borrowed some of its technical features from the T-34. Although quickly surpassed by foreign production, the T-34 remained in production from 1940 to 1958, with a total of units produced estimated at 84,070, making it the second most produced tank of all time, just behind its successors, the T-54 and T-55.

The success was attributed to Chinese fighters at the time in order to keep the S-75 program secret.

Une documentation signée Osprey Publishing le livre «US Anti-tank Artillery 1941–45 – NEW VANGUARD 107» .

The US Army’s development of the 37mm anti-tank gun began in response to needs identified during the Spanish Civil War. By the time it entered service in Tunisia in 1943, the gun was already obsolete, and the US began the licensed manufacture of the British 6-pdr in the hope of finding a quick solution to its artillery requirements. This in turn proved unequal to the demands of warfare in France in 1944, and further anti-tank measures were developed – rocket propelled grenades for infantry use, and weapons designed specifically for use by the Tank Destroyer Force.
