Le Panzerkampfwagen VI Königstiger, ou Sd.Kfz. 182 Panzer VI ausf B Tiger II, surnommé le Königstiger (Tigre royal), est un char d’assaut allemand de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Produit à 50 exemplaires pour le modèle à tourelle “Porsche”, à 439 exemplaires pour le modèle à tourelle “Henschel”, ce char était pourvu d’un important blindage, d’un canon antichar lui donnant la possibilité de mettre hors de combat tous les chars alliées en service lors des deux dernières années du conflit, mais il possédait le même moteur que le char Panther, son rapport poids-puissance était donc moindre, il était lent et peu mobile, très gourmand en carburant, et il devait changer de chenilles avant et après tout transport par rail.

The series of German prototypes Neubaufahrzeug was a first attempt to create a heavy tank for the Wehrmacht, after Adolf Hitler came to power. Multi-turrets, heavy and slow, these tanks did not fit with the tactics of the Blitzkrieg and were not put into production. They were mainly used for propaganda purposes, although three took part in the Norwegian campaign in 1940.

The Panzerkampfwagen VI King's Tiger, or Sd.Kfz. 182 Panzer VI ausf B Tiger II, nicknamed the Konigstiger (Royal Tiger), is a German tank of the Second World War. Produced at 50 units for the "Porsche" turret model, 439 units for the "Henschel" turret model, this tank was equipped with a large armour, an anti-tank gun giving it the ability to put out of action all allied tanks in service during the last two years of the conflict, but it had the same engine as the Panther tank , its weight-to-power ratio was therefore less, it was slow and not mobile, very fuel-intensive, and it had to change tracks before and after any rail transport.

The T-34 was a medium tank that entered service in 1940 with the Red Army. At the time, it was a remarkable balance between the three major factors that defined the quality of an armoured vehicle: firepower, protection and mobility. This success made it one of the Soviet Union's strengths in the face of the invasion of the Wehrmacht. In order to counter it, it will have to revise its armoured design policy by developing, for example, the Panzer-V 'Panther', which borrowed some of its technical features from the T-34. Although quickly surpassed by foreign production, the T-34 remained in production from 1940 to 1958, with a total of units produced estimated at 84,070, making it the second most produced tank of all time, just behind its successors, the T-54 and T-55.

History: La VW 82 Kübelwagen (« voiture bassine ») est un véhicule léger militaire allemand conçu par Ferdinand Porsche avant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Elle possède une carrosserie ouverte simplifiée montée sur le châssis et dotée des éléments mécaniques de la voiture appelée alors KdF-Wagen, devenue plus tard la Coccinelle. Pour améliorer ses capacités tous terrains, des réducteurs sont installés au niveau des roues, augmentant la garde au sol et le couple de traction. Elle est également équipée d’un différentiel de la société ZF (Zahnradfabrik Friedrichshafen) autobloquant à galets pour augmenter les capacités de franchissement en terrain glissant. Par sa légèreté et son différentiel autobloquant, la VW 82 4×2 (4 roues dont 2 roues motrices) s’est montrée meilleure que la « jeep » MB ou GPW 4X4 beaucoup plus lourde sans différentiels verrouillables qui la ramènent à une 4×2 lorsque les 2 roues d’un même côté patinent. Conçu comme véhicule de transport de troupes, il était agile, fiable et facile à produire. L’armée allemande en utilisa 55 000 exemplaires durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

The Panzerkampfwagen IV (PzKpfW IV), often referred to as Panzer IV, was a tank used by Nazi Germany during World War II. Originally designed as a fire support tank, with a short 75 mm gun, for the Panzerkampfwagen III, it eventually replaced the panzerkampfwagen III when allied tanks became too protected for the pan. Re-equipped with a long anti-tank gun, the PzKpfW IV was the main German tank during the second part of the war with more than 9000 copies produced and gave birth to many versions.
