The CJ-6B was first flown in 1975 and entered service with the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) and the People’s Liberation Army Naval Air Force (PLANAF) in 1979. The CJ-6B is still in use today as a basic trainer for Chinese pilots, as well as for aerobatic and light attack missions.
