The Nanchang CJ-6B is a Chinese military trainer aircraft that was developed from the earlier CJ-6A model. The CJ-6B features a more powerful engine, a redesigned cockpit, and improved avionics. The CJ-6B was first flown in 1975 and entered service with the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) and the People’s Liberation Army Naval Air Force (PLANAF) in 1979. The CJ-6B is still in use today as a basic trainer for Chinese pilots, as well as for aerobatic and light attack missions. The CJ-6B has also been exported to several countries, including Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe.
