Den Harbin Z-6 is a Chinese military helicopter based on the Soviet Mil Mi-6. It was developed by the Harbin Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation (HAMC) in the 1960s and entered service with the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in the 1970s. The Z-6 has a maximum takeoff weight of 42.5 tons and can carry up to 90 troops or 20 tons of cargo. It is powered by four WZ-6 turboshaft engines, each producing 4,100 kW of power.
The Z-6 has a maximum speed of 300 km/h and a range of 800 km. The Z-6 can also be equipped with various weapons, such as rockets, missiles, bombs, and guns. The Z-6 is mainly used for transport, assault, and fire support missions. It can also perform search and rescue, medical evacuation, and aerial refueling tasks. The Z-6 is one of the largest and most powerful helicopters in the world.
