The M110A2 Howitzer is a self-propelled artillery system that was used by the United States Army from the 1960s to the 1990s. It is based on the M107 175 mm gun, but with a longer barrel and a larger chamber to fire 203 mm projectiles. The M110A2 can fire a variety of ammunition types, including high-explosive, nuclear, chemical, and rocket-assisted projectiles. The M110A2 has a maximum range of 30 km with conventional ammunition and 40 km with rocket-assisted projectiles. The M110A2 is mounted on a tracked chassis that provides mobility and protection for the crew of six.
The M110A2 has a hydraulic system that allows the gun to be elevated, traversed, and stabilized. The M110A2 also has an auxiliary power unit that provides electrical power for the gun and the crew compartment.
