O Sd.Kfz. 9 Schwerer Zugkraftwagen 18t (Heavy Towed Motor Vehicle 18 ton), commonly known as the Fálamo after its primary manufacturer (Fahrzeug- und Motorenbau GmbH), was the largest and heaviest half-track vehicle produced in quantity by Germany during World War II. - Power Plant: It was driven by a powerful 12-cylinder Maybach HL 108 gasoline engine, delivering 270 horsepower.
- Towing Capacity: Its design allowed for a massive towing capacity, officially rated for up to 28 tonnes.
- Running Gear: It combined a conventional steerable front axle (wheels) with a sophisticated rear track assembly utilizing the German-standard interleaved roadwheels (Schachtellaufwerk) for superior off-road capability.

Specialized Versions:
- Sd.Kfz. 9/1 & 9/2: These were specialized recovery versions fitted with either a 6-ton or 10-ton crane in place of the cargo bed. These cranes were used for field repairs, such as lifting tank turrets or engines out of their hulls.
- 8.8 cm Flak 18 (Sfl.) auf Zugkraftwagen 18t: A small number of Famos were converted to self-propelled anti-aircraft/anti-tank guns by mounting the fearsome 88 mm gun directly onto the chassis.
