The Soko J-22 Orao is a Yugoslav twin-engined, subsonic ground-attack and aerial reconnaissance aircraft. It was developed and built in collaboration by SOKO in Yugoslavia and by Avioane Craiova in neighbouring Romania, being known in the latter as the IAR-93 Vultur.

The Soko J-22 Orao is a Yugoslav twin-engined, subsonic ground-attack and aerial reconnaissance aircraft. It was developed and built in collaboration by SOKO in Yugoslavia and by Avioane Craiova in neighbouring Romania, being known in the latter as the IAR-93 Vultur. The J-22 Orao has a conventional high-wing monoplane design with swept flying surfaces and a tandem cockpit. It is powered by two Rolls-Royce Viper turbojet engines, which provide a maximum speed of 1,130 km/h and a combat radius of 522 km. The J-22 Orao can carry a variety of weapons, including cannons, rockets, bombs and missiles, on its seven hardpoints.
The J-22 Orao was first flown in 1974 and entered service in 1978. It was used by both Yugoslavia and Romania during the Yugoslav Wars and the Kosovo War, as well as by Serbia and Montenegro in the 1999 NATO bombing of Yugoslavia. The J-22 Orao is still in service with Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Romania, although some have been retired or upgraded to modern standards.
