More info:

The Grumman F-11A Tiger was a supersonic fighter aircraft that served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1967. It was the first jet fighter to shoot itself down, due to its high speed and rapid rate of fire. The F-11A was designed as a carrier-based interceptor and had a swept-wing configuration, a single Pratt & Whitney J65 turbojet engine, and four 20 mm cannons.
The F-11A could reach a maximum speed of Mach 1.4 and had a combat radius of 450 miles. The F-11A was also capable of carrying air-to-air missiles, rockets, and bombs. The F-11A was used by the Navy’s Blue Angels flight demonstration team from 1957 to 1969, and was known for its distinctive blue and gold paint scheme. The F-11A was retired from active service in 1967 and replaced by the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II.
