Fotogalerij van een USS Lionfish SS-298, USS Lionfish (SS-298), a Balao-class submarine, was the only ship of the United States Navy named for the lionfish, a scorpaenid fish native to the Pacific and an invasive species found around the Caribbean. She was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1986, and is now on display at Battleship Cove in Fall River, Massachusetts.

USS Lionfish SS-298 was een onderzeeër van de Balao-klasse die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog in dienst was van de Amerikaanse marine. Ze werd te water gelaten op 7 november 1943 en in dienst gesteld op 1 november 1944. Ze voerde zes oorlogspatrouilles uit in de Stille Oceaan, waarbij negen Japanse schepen tot zinken werden gebracht en vier andere werden beschadigd. Ze redde ook 21 geallieerde piloten die waren neergeschoten door vijandelijke vliegtuigen.
She received four battle stars for her service and was decommissioned on 16 February 1946. She was later transferred to the Turkish Navy in 1973 and renamed TCG Saldıray. She served until 1983 and was returned to the United States. She is now a museum ship at the Battleship Cove in Fall River, Massachusetts, where she is open to the public for tours and education.
